The second issue of René Magazine this year features Dive School de Grevelingen in an in-depth article about the SSI Classified Diving programme. Under the title "Everyone can dive", owner Wil Stutterheim talks about what the programme involves, why he chose to offer it, and how it works in practice.

The SSI Classified Diving programme makes diving accessible to people with limited mobility or sensory impairments. In the article, Wil explains how the programme is structured, what the three levels of support entail, and how communication works underwater when a diver cannot use standard hand signals. The accessibility of local dive sites also features, with particular attention to 't Koepeltje near Scharendijke — a site reachable by wheelchair and equipped with a chair lift to assist entry into the water.

"With the right support, there is often much more possible than people expect," Wil says in the article. "Whether it's an introductory dive, a guided dive, or earning an Open Water Diver certification."
