Refresher course
Haven't been diving for a while? A quick refresher and you'll be ready to again
Back in the Water After Years Away
Whether it's been two, ten or fifteen years — we'll get you back underwater.
Do you hold a dive certification but haven't been in the water for a while? No worries. We regularly help people who haven't dived in over ten years get back into diving. With our refresher course you brush up on the theory and practise the basic skills again — all under the guidance of an experienced divemaster or instructor. In the Grevelingenmeer, which is a perfect spot to rediscover the underwater world.
The refresher is not a re-examination. It's a friendly, relaxed way to rebuild your confidence. You work at your own pace and can choose between a programme of two (most popular) or four dives — or, if you're really short on time, a single refresher dive.
After the refresher you're ready for guided fun dives or to move on to your next course. A great stepping stone towards the AOWD or a specialty.

I haven't dived for 10 years, can I join?
Absolutely. We regularly help divers who, for various reasons, haven't for years and years. That's not a problem. We give you credit, you too will pick up diving with renewed confidence after a few times underwater. This programme is suitable for anyone with a diving certificate (at least Open Water Diver or similar).
What do I bring to a refresher course?
As with all our diving activities, we provide well-fitting diving equipment. You yourself only need to bring swimwear, a towel and clothes adapted to the weather. Also think about something to eat and drink between or after the dives. Of course, you should also bring your diving certificate and logbook.
Hasn't my diving certification expired?
Usually, a diving certification is valid for life. However, it is strongly recommended to make a dive at least every six months. Of course, it can happen that you have not been able/willing to dive for a few times. In that case, be sure to take a refresher course first.
I have lost my diving certification. What now?
We would like to make sure you are certified when you join a refresher course, guided dive or other advanced training. If this is not possible, we can only offer an introductory dive or a full new Open Water Diver course. In many cases, the certification can be found online. Both SSI and PADI long ago started being able to look up divers online in their systems. To look you up, we need first and last name (and sometimes a middle initial), plus your date of birth.
Can I do a one-dive refresher?
If you really want to, we can offer a one-to-one refresher dive. However, we find that many people benefit from having more time. Therefore, we prefer to refresh in two or four dives. We can then use the first dive to just get used to everything again. After that, we have plenty of time to repeat a few skills and enjoy the beautiful marine life in Zeeland.
