Koepeltje
Near Scharendijke, accessible dive site with chairlift.
Dive site 't Koepeltje is a well-known dive site in Lake Grevelingen. You will find this location at the harbour and recreation beach West Repart, at the south-end of the Brouwersdam. The best way to reach the dive site is from the parallel road on the inside of the dam. It is then a short walk to the dive site. You can also park along the Rampweg, near snackbar 't Koepeltje, but then you have to cross the dune in full gear.
This dive site is one of the few suitable for people with limited mobility. From the car park by the harbour, you can take a paved path to the dive platform. On the platform, you will then find a chairlift for divers. So for people dependent on a wheelchair, this is a good location to easily enter the water. The key to use the chairlift can be borrowed from divestore de Grevelingen.
Because of its location near the sluice, this is a location where you are likely to encounter some more unusual marine life. In the past, several species have been seen here for the first time. Otherwise, it is an easy site, suitable for all levels. You dive from the jetty towards Scharendijke, following the course of the dike. Up to 15 metres or so, it is quite overgrown here.
What you'll find
- Accessible for divers with reduced mobility
- Chair lift on the diving jetty
- Suitable for all levels
- Special encounters possible due to nearby sluice gate
Note: Be aware of recreational boating to or from port West Repart. The chairlift requires a key: to borrow from divestore de Grevelingen.
